At Iowa Weight Loss Specialists, we believe in having a comprehensive team of medical professionals to provide the care that you need. Our team is lead by Dr. Todd Eibes MD, FACS, who has been performing weight loss surgery for over 13 years and has done nearly 2,000 weight loss surgeries.

He leads a team of medical professionals including physician assistants, dietitians, mental health providers, and exercise specialists to help guide you through your journey. You are never alone in this process, and we will always be there to provide guidance and support on your path to improved health.

We believe that the most important aspect of the program is education. Every patient will receive both group and individual teaching along the journey. All patients will receive comprehensive education prior to surgery so that you can decide if surgery is right for you. After surgery, all patients will receive dietary and exercise counseling along with mental health counseling as necessary.

We also offer a dedicated support group that meets monthly to discuss life changes after surgical weight loss. Many patients find strength in the support of former patients that have been through the program.

Surgical weight loss is not a quick fix but is the only effective method for patients who are morbidly obese to lose a significant amount of weight and keep it off. It is the first step in a lifelong journey back to health.

Surgery is the only effective tool in suppressing your appetite and controlling your portions to a level that will allow people who are morbidly obese to lose weight.
